The Minnesota State High School Clay Target League Trap Shooting Tournament will be held in mid-June in Alexandria at the Alexandria Shooting Park. We find out the specific date(s) in April. This is the largest youth shooting event in the world. The State Championship is an optional choice for student athletes to attend. Travel and expenses will be the student’s responsibility. There is an approximate $20 entry fee to attend – this includes range fees, clays, a tee shirt and lunch. It is our preference for everyone to attend but it is not required. From the True Team scoring process throughout the season, the MSHSCTL will determine rankings at the varsity, junior varsity and novice levels. Prior to the season’s end, we will need to determine interest levels in attending the State Tournament. The tournament roster spots may be filled by moving the next best-scoring shooters up one level, but we cannot move shooters down any levels. For those of you planning to take your ACT exams soon be advised that you may want to take your exam early in the year if you plan to attend this tournament, so check schedules and plan accordingly.
In late June, the Minnesota State High School League sanctions the State High School Trap Shooting Tournament. This is strictly a qualifying best-of-the-best tournament based on the tournament in Alexandria.
